So the video is now roughly done with a few more changes and additions to be make. The end of the video, I feel, is not done as well as the rest of the video and me and James plan to go back and have another look at it together. Also there are many places in the video toward the end where more effects such as fire need to be added we will need to do this during next week also. Finally there are still some points where we have some more footage to put in which we have recorded but we just need to convert it and put it into the video.
Also we have done another page of the Digi pak which is here:

Okay now that was a good music video, nicely paced with a very varied use of shots that help give it the feel of that genre of music. Favourite part of them all has to be the ending as so simple but well executed. Obviously the only problem is as you said the missing shots and maybe the slight variation in quality of some shots but other then that, it is looking very good indeed. Maybe if you have time, a few effects wouldn't hurt help spice it up a little.
ReplyDeleteI agree with James in terms of it needing a little "spice" - although it's well edited and atmospheric, it doesn't quite have the edge I would expect. Maybe you need to treat the footage of the ritual in order to make it clearly different to the "real world" footage. You might want to desaturate the "real world" stuff and make the "ritual" stuff higher contrast? It might be good to have some sort of foreshadowing of what happens at the end of the video (for example, subliminal cuts of the fire or the sacrifice or whatever happens) edited in throughout. At the moment, I would be comfortable placing this at the very bottom of 4 (because it hits all the right buttons, but doesn't quite have the creative oomph to get higher). With some polishing and a little more fizz it will be better.
ReplyDeleteA slight technical thing - you need to look closely at the editing, because there are a few points where you have black screen (which may be where you need to put extra footage).
We just need to get the footage of Ellen we took recently converting, which will fill in the black screens.
