A2 Media - Album Posters

These are the two adverts me and James have put together. There are obviously slight changes between the two and there are possibly a few more changes to be made and edits to be done but overall these two adverts show the general idea of what we are going to do. If you could leave a comment and just say which one you think is better that would be really helpful.

A2 Media - Album Artwork

Today as well as refining the front cover of our artwork and changing it we also worker on a back cover for our album. We have added our production logo in the bottem left corner and we have also added the "Earache" record label to add authenticity for our project, to further add the authenticity we have added a bar code in. Overall me and james are very happy with how this looks, and once we have decided on which front cover we wanted to use we will have completed the front and back cover of our album. As can clearly be seen we have stuck very closely to the green and black colour scheme which is obviously a motif of the band and so hence why it has become such a common theme. Furthermore we have used the original artwork from the front cover to use on the back cover, we faded it into the background and then put the words onto the top which in turn creates the link between the back cover and the front cover to ensure they do not look like to entirely different products.

A2 Media - Album artwork

On James blog he has posted two versions of our album cover for people to vote on which ever one they prefer. So if everyone could just quickly go over to James blog and just comment on which one you prefer 1 & 2. We would really appreciate any feedback you could give us.

A2 Media - Album Artwork

Due to lack of progress on the filming side of the project me and James have swtiched our priorities aorund and we are going to get the print products completed before the end of this year giving us plenty of time next year to focus solely on the video. however we will ot forget about the filming and while we are doing the print products we will still try to arrange a shoot with which to get some footage of then band to use in the video. However the most recent progress we have made with the video is currently on our blog this template of which we will still carry on with as it still has some promising attributes to it and it will provide as an excellent template to use when it comes to us getting the final pieces of footage. Recently me and James got the album artwork for "Vortex" sorted out this was the rougb initial draft of it whcih we got:

Upon getting this we took to Photoshop and began changing it. Our initial ideas were the use the piece of artwork as a primary focus for the album having it centered in the album, from there we wanted to have the Vortex logo as is shown above fixed on the top once again centered on the artwork so it is obvious what the album is. From there we wanted to stick very closely to the Vortex colour scheme that being of black and green in this we wanted to keep the album cover like that with only black and green on it, to an extent this would make it a noticable motif for the band creating the finality that when you see the black and green you know it is Vortex. As for the name of the album we wanted to put it at the bottom of the album cover in green writing, but moreover we want to do it in a way in which is similar to the Vortex logo but at the same time is tangibly different to it to ensure that there is a clear difference between the name of the band and the name of the album. When putting all of this together this is what we came out with:

As can be seen clearly we have stuck rigidly to the green and black colout scheme and used an effect on the text of which makes it hollow much similar to the actual Vortex logo itself. Overall while this is just a first draft of the album cover I cannot see much more that needs to be done to the album we feel that the artwork with the green tints on looks extremely good and we are very happy with the quality of which it has to it. Perhaps the only changes we will make is maybe a few changes of text in order to see if any looks better or suits it more and perhaps we may increase the size of the Vortex and make it a bit more prominent on the album but apart from that we are very pleased with the first draft of the album cover and we feel confident that once we fix up the rest of the digi pak that it will be of professional quality.
